Study Support

Study Support ensures the inclusion of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, through a variety of support methods, intervention programmes and the delivery of recognised qualifications that are tailored to meet the needs of individuals.  High quality provision is designed in partnership with teachers, teaching assistants and external agencies, with the views of the student and parent/carer playing a key role in all decision making.

Key Stage 3

At KS3, students receive intervention in a number of ways including in-class support across the full range of academic and creative subjects, a Humanities and Literacy Nurture Group, 1:1 withdrawal or other small group work.  Highly structured programmes provide support for reading, spelling, handwriting, homework, life skills, social skills and organisation.

Key Stage 4

We offer a range of qualifications at Key Stage 4 which allow students to develop and recognise a variety of skills that will be invaluable for further study, starting work and living independent lives.  The programmes provide for students working within the lower ability range and include ASDAN Certificates (Bronze Silver Gold), ASDAN Personal and Social Development (L1 L2), OCR Employability Skills (L2) and AQA Preparation for Working Life (L1 L2).
